About
The PGD in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) develops a strong understanding of why EIA is essential to sustainable development and equips learners with key techniques to plan and conduct assessments. The program also introduces Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and the wider policy context shaping environmental governance.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
On completion, learners will be able to:
- ✓Explain the aims, scope and core concepts of EIA and SEA in sustainable development.
- ✓Interpret relevant EIA laws, rules and institutional processes in Pakistan.
- ✓Design end-to-end EIA workflows: screening, scoping, baseline studies, impact prediction, mitigation and monitoring.
- ✓Engage stakeholders through effective public participation and consultation plans.
- ✓Evaluate biophysical and social impacts across water, land, air, biodiversity and communities.
- ✓Report findings in compliant EIA/IEE/EMP documentation and present recommendations clearly.
Eligibility
Minimum Requirements (from HSA)
- Graduation in any stream (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Work experience: not mandatory; however, minimum two years in a relevant field is desirable.
